Reef Environmental Education Foundation.  REEF Volunteers (you could be one) conduct surveys of fish and invertebrates while diving, creating a huge database used to advocate for preserving the places we dive.  If you'd like to do some surveying, check it out.  It's lots of fun, and an easy way to "give back."
