Harper's Ferry

Name:

Harper's Ferry

Location:

Port Orchard, Washington

Type of Dive:

Shore Dive

My Most Recent Dive Here:

12/2/2006

Number of Dives Here:

1

Reasons to Make the Dive:

Easy parking, very little current, a nice coffee shop for an after-dive latte/hot chocolate.  Some interesting life, especially nudibranch.

Life to See:

Perch.  Perch.  And more perch.  Lots of nudibranch.  Lots of plumose.  Northern Kelp Crabs everywhere...

My Own Personal Rating:

6/10  (It'd be lower, except there were lots of nudibranchs on the day we dove here...)

Directions/Coordinates:

Take Hwy 16 towards Pt. Orchard from Tacoma.  Exit at Sedwick Road.  Follow signs for the Southworth Ferry.  At the stop sign in front of the ferry terminal, take a left.  At the next "big" intersection, go right.  (You won't have much choice...and it'll be obvious.)  Alright...um...I forgot the rest of the directions...

This is an interesting dive site...although not spectacular.  (Only 1 dive...so it may get better.)
