A beautiful wall...the shelf sits at around 25 fsw.  The wall drops to about 800 fsw.  Quite stunning!

Life to See:

Well, since this was my first warm water dive (see Description), there were too many things to remember.  Coral, sponges, urchins, worms, fish, sea turtles, and lots of other stuff.

My Own Personal Rating:

10/10

Directions/Coordinates:

I dove with Dive Dominica for this dive.  Our boat left from Roseau, Dominica.

Description:

Wow!  Maybe my rating is a bit high because this was my first warm water dive and my first wall dive.  But wow, this is an amazing site.  Once I got my weight figures out and added a few pounds, we dropped down from the boat to the shelf in around 25 fsw.  Then we headed over to the wall.  It's quite a thrill to swim over the wall and look down.  I was completely blown away.  Our dive plan kept us at around 40-60 fsw, which was just fine by me.  We drifted slowly along in the current, checking out all of the great stuff on the wall.  Since my camera malfunctioned (well, Tim's camera...OK, it was an operator error, not the camera's fault), I don't have any pictures.  And I was so overwhelmed with the visibility and life that I lost track of everything I saw.  Lots of cool corals and sponges, urchins, fish, worms and everything else warm water has to offer.  I was having so much fun that I ran out of air pretty quickly, and had to go up to the shelf while the rest of the group kept going along where they saw two sea turtles.  Even though my dive was very short, this was a great dive.  I'm not sure it really deserves a 10/10, as I'm sure there are better places, but I'd definitely like to go back and see it again.  If you're ever in Dominica, I highly recommend this dive.  And Point Guignard is right up the coast about 300 meters, so you can do two dives right there.
