Reasons to Make the Dive:

Many many reasons.  It's a neat "wall" that stair-steps down quite a ways.  When we dove it we drifted along a bit.  I've heard the current can get quite heavy here, though.  Lots of life to see.

Life to See:

Wow, I was almost overwhelmed by the life here.  I can't remember everything I saw...but here goes.  Orange Cup Coral, Rose Stars, Creeping Pedal Sea Cucumber, Painted Greenling, Ling Cod, Rockfish of many varieties.

My Own Personal Rating:

9/10

Directions/Coordinates:

Well...I dove this with Bandito Charters on the Ocean QuestIt's a great way to dive this...as it was a live boat to pick us up.  So...I don't have any directions.

I dove this with Bandito Charters on the Ocean QuestAs I said earlier, this is a great way to dive this, as it was a live boat.  My first dive here, on June 25, 2006, was with my AOW class.  Unfortunately, my regular dive buddy wasn't able to join me.  But I got paired with a good diver, so that helped.  We got dropped off close to the ledges on shore, and re-grouped.  Then we descended as buddy teams.  Rick was our DiveCon, keeping track of us.  We descended and headed along the wall, pulled by the current.  This wall is kind of a "stair-step" wall, and we just headed down, aiming for this to be our "deep" dive for our class.  We got to 103 feet, which is my deepest to date.  I know many others get way deeper.  Not a problem for me.  I just care about seeing cool critters.  Since I couldn't take my camera, I wanted to work on my buoyancy skills.  I didn't do all that great, to be honest.  But I digress...this is supposed to be a dive site report, not a dive log entry.  Sorry.

So, there's lots of cool life to see.  I got to see Orange Cup Coral for the first time, along with lots of Rose Stars.  Oh yeah...I spotted a really cool sea cucumber called a Creeping Pedal Sea Cucumber.  It is very cool looking!  A ling went by, some painted greenling, and a good number of rockfish.

I definitely recommend this dive site, especially if you can dive it from a charter.  Great stuff!
