Reasons to Make the Dive: |
Well, we went looking for wolfies, and didn't see any. But there were lots of rose stars, buffalo sculpins, and rockfish around. Fun dive...need to go back to get to the pilings. |
|
Life to See: |
We've been told of Wolfies and GPO on the ledges, but didn't see them. We've also been told of a ton of life on the pilings, but we didn't get to the pilings. |
|
My Own Personal Rating: |
6/10 (But we didn't find the wolfies and GPO on the ledges, and ran out of time to get to the pilings...this might go up...) |

Description:
|
Well, our dive here wasn't all that exciting. I saw a lot of fairly large buffalo sculpin. That was cool. Saw lots of rose stars. Cool again. Some shrimp... But we came searching for Wolfies and GPO, and got skunked on both. We surface-swam out to the twin-pilings and descended. Then headed west to look for the ledges. Found them after some searching...and one of the cool sights was a line-up of a bunch of shrimp. Kept searching...found other stuff in the ledges, but nothing incredibly exciting...cool critters, yes, but not what we were looking for. We headed towards the pilings, but due to our slow, time-consuming look for the ledges, we ended up having to miss the big "v-shaped" pilings that are apparently covered in plumose, and a bunch of other life. We hope to head back there at some point. It should be noted that this site is VERY CURRENT SENSITIVE, so plan accordingly. We dove right on slack, and had very little current. And based on the picture below...time your "gearing up" carefully, so you don't get stuck waiting for the train. |
