Redondo Night Dive - May 26, 2006
For the nightcap, we headed back to Redondo. One of our favorite night
dive spots. It's always reliable. I can't think of a night dive
where we haven't spotted at least two or more red octopuses. On this one,
at the end of the dive, at the bottom of one of the pilings, I spotted the
biggest red we'd ever seen. We also spotted a number of fish that we
originally identified as Northern Ronquil. I'm wondering if they weren't a
blackbelly eelpout, instead. Unfortunately, I didn't get any real good
pictures. But, a fair number of pictures turned out OK for this dive.
Near the pipe, we got swarmed by shrimp, or something like that...and they
followed our lights. It was kind of cool.
